I have enjoyed drawing for as long as I can remember; as a child I was constantly creating new characters and weird and wonderful worlds for them to live in. I later trained in fine art printmaking at Glasgow School of Art, specialising in screen printing, which I loved, and I think that this still informs my drawing style today. I use a variety of techniques in my finished illustrations, typically blending traditional and digital media. I’m inspired by everything I see; nature, fashion, films, graphic novels and more. My artwork is character-led, and I love using really fresh and juicy colour in my work.

From 2012 I have worked primarily in the surface pattern design industry, licensing artwork for application to a wide range of products, working with clients around the globe. I have also been lucky enough to publish a series of lift-the-flap board books with Child’s Play, and to work on a book cover for Usborne. I am very keen now to focus my abilities on drawing and painting for picture books. I am now proudly represented by Advocate Art in this endeavour!
